What we didn't expect to find
Solomon. Kaffa, Ethiopia.
While we were in Ethiopia, we kept hearing about Solomon.
A man in the Kaffa region who'd spent 38 years doing something no one else had thought to do. Recording the ceremonies, the songs, the farming wisdom, the oral histories that the global coffee trade had quietly erased. Thirty-eight years of listening, in the place where coffee began.
We came home. A few months later, we were sitting across from him in London. By the end of the year, he was our co-founder.
We didn't go looking for Solomon. But then, we didn't go looking for Linh either. That's how this adventure works. You follow the question, and it introduces you to the people you were always meant to find.
