The story behind this coffeeThe story behind this coffee
01
The Arrival
This coffee is from Ethiopia's Limu region. We need to be specific about that because Band of Beans has deep roots in Ethiopia's Kaffa region, and we don't want you to assume this is that coffee. It isn't. Ethiopian Blossom is sourced through our roasting partners. We chose it because it's exceptional and because Ethiopia is where coffee began, where our co-founder Solomon was born, and where the adventure changed everything.
02
The Process
Ethiopian single origin from Limu, in the Oromia region of south west Ethiopia. Grown at around 1,600 metres. A mix of beans from six farms, Eastern African heirloom varieties. Washed process. Roasted medium by our partners. Fruity, winey, sweet. We have not met the farms that grew it. That is the gap this work exists to close.

The Community
We have been to Ethiopia. We have relationships with producers in the Kaffa region: Almaz, Bereket, Demekeeh. Solomon was born there. But this specific coffee is not from Kaffa, and those producers did not grow it. We're working to source directly from the Kaffa Forest Coffee Farmers Cooperative Union. When that coffee arrives, it will carry the full story: the hands, the names, the place. Ethiopian Blossom is our bridge to that moment. Ethiopian coffee we trust, from a country we know and are building something real with.

The Invitation
The first directly sourced Kaffa coffee is the next chapter. Follow the Adventure to be there when it arrives.
