Mayan Tapestry
An adventure documented by Alice & Nick
01
The Arrival
We haven't been to Guatemala's Huehuetenango highlands. We chose this coffee because we tasted it and it stopped us. Single origin, grown above 1,800 metres on volcanic soil, and it carries something we couldn't ignore. This is our introduction to Guatemala. Not the full story. The first taste.
02
The Process
High altitude, volcanic soil, wet processed, sun dried. 250g whole bean. Roasted by our partners. We can tell you what's in the cup. We can't yet tell you whose hands picked it.
03
The Community
This is where we're honest with you. We don't know the farmer who grew this coffee. We haven't walked their land or sat with their family. That's the distance between most coffee and the person who drinks it, and it's the distance Band of Beans exists to close. We're building direct relationships with producers in Ethiopia's Kaffa region and Vietnam's Central Highlands. Guatemala may be next. It depends on where the adventure leads.
