Rwandan Reserve
An adventure documented by Alice & Nick
01
The Arrival
Rwanda, the land of a thousand hills. We haven't yet stood on those terraced slopes where coffee trees cascade down volcanic ridges into morning valleys. But the images shared by the cooperative paint a picture we can almost taste: farmers gathering as mist burns off Lake Kivu, the quiet pride of people rebuilding through the patient work of exceptional coffee.
02
The Process
Rwandan coffee tells the story of transformation. The bourbon varieties grown here are descended from beans that arrived over a century ago, but it's the recent revolution in processing that's captured the specialty coffee world's attention. Fully washed and meticulously sorted, these beans develop the bright, tea-like clarity that's become Rwanda's signature. Every step, from selective picking to raised-bed drying, reflects a nation's commitment to coffee as a path forward.
03
The Community
Coffee in Rwanda carries weight beyond the cup. The co-operative system that emerged after 1994 brought former neighbours back together around shared purpose. Women make up a significant portion of co-operative leadership here, and their influence shapes everything from quality standards to community investment. When you buy Rwandan coffee, you're supporting a model of reconciliation built one harvest at a time.

The Invitation
Someday soon, we'll walk those thousand hills ourselves. We'll meet the farmers whose hands touch these beans, hear their stories, understand what coffee means to their families and futures. For now, we invite you to join us in this first connection, taste what Rwanda offers, and wonder alongside us about the full story waiting to be discovered. This is coffee from communities we've yet to visit but are already committed to supporting.
This is the coffee we experienced
Now we invite you to taste it with us

250g β’ Ethiopian Highlands β’ Traditional Processing
Rwandaβs hills may be small in size, but the coffee grown here carries a reputation that stretches far beyond its borders. Cultivated between 1,400 and 1,900 meters, on tiny family plots that rarely exceed a hectare, this is a coffee shaped by care, community, and resilience.
